I’m Dr. Nouman Waheed — a practising dentist, an educator, and the founder of CEJ Experts. I’ve spent over a decade in operatories, lecture halls, and small rooms with anxious new graduates, asking the same question from every side of the chair: what does it actually take to be good at this for thirty years? The answer surprised me. It wasn’t another course on crown preps.
I remember my first root canal in private practice.
The diagnosis was right. The technique was textbook. The patient still left unhappy — and I went home that night replaying every word I'd said, wondering why no one had ever taught me how to talk to a person in pain.
That night I realised something most of us learn the slow way: dental school spends four years on the tooth and four hours on the patient. It teaches you the procedure. It rarely teaches you the practitioner.
I built CEJ Experts to close that gap.
For me. For the version of you who is somewhere between confident on paper and quietly unsure between patients. For the dentist who wants to be better tomorrow than today — clinically, professionally, and personally.
CEJ is the Cemento-Enamel Junction — the anatomical line where the root of a tooth meets the crown. It's where two very different tissues come together to make one functioning whole.
We picked the name on purpose.
